Shannon is originally from California where she grew up riding and showing horses. At the age of 16 she started in the veterinary field cleaning stalls at a 24-hour surgical and intensive care equine hospital. She quickly advanced into an assistant technician. It was there that she knew caring for animals was what she wanted to do. After relocating to Florida, Shannon became part of the Shelton Veterinary Clinic team in March of 2005 as a field technician. Since then Shannon has become more involved in all areas of the hospital. In 2007, she took on the role of hospital manager.
Today you will find Shannon in surgery assisting the veterinarian, cleaning cages or running around the hospital making sure everything is in operating order. Even though she has taken on more management responsibility, her true passion goes back to her roots in caring for foals.
